  • Missed Lesson Policy (Private Lessons)

Each student is allowed (1) make-up lesson per semester without penalty.

When a student is unable to attend their lesson, notify the teacher, by phone, in advance and as soon as possible. The teacher will work with the student to reschedule the lesson.

Lessons will NOT be rolled over to the next semester for student absences.

Tuition will NOT be refunded for the student absences.

Faculty will extend the same courtesy by notifying students when they need to reschedule a lesson. Rescheduled lessons will occur before the beginning of the next semester.

    Missed Lesson Policy (Group Lessons)

Due to the nature of the group lesson environment, there will be no make-up lessons offered unless the cancellation of class was due to teacher absence or inclement weather.

    Refund Policy

The $25 registration fee is non-refundable.

Students may cancel lessons up until the Add/Drop Deadline (see the semester calendar) and they will receive a refund of their tuition minus the registration fee and any classes they have already taken.

No refunds will be given after add/drop deadline.

Students will be expected to provide an instrument in good working order.  Method books, musical literature, or additional class materials are the responsibility of the student to purchase as required by the instructor.

Each student taking lessons through the School of the Arts is encouraged to perform in the semester showcase, as well as in any other arranged performances. These low-pressure, positive opportunities teach performance skills and are an invaluable part of the students’ study. There is no showcase during the summer semester.
